Major updates! (20 weeks, 1 day)

Whoa, I'm bad at keeping this thing up to date. So much has happened, it's been so crazy around here lately.
boy? girl?

To start, back in February (at 16 weeks), I got to have my first glucose test - lucky me! Normally, this test isn't done until later on (I think around 22ish weeks), but since there's a huge family history of diabetes, they decided to do mine early. Unfortunately, I think I still have to retake the test at the normal time even though I PASSED (yay!) the first one - just for precautionary measures. It wasn't nearly as bad as everyone was making it out to be. Got there, drank an icy cold fruit punch type drink, and read my Kindle for an hour in the waiting room. The worst part was getting my blood drawn. I told the tech that my veins roll and she wasn't going to be able to get it out of my arm....of course, they never listen, so 2 pokes in each arm later, she decided to try the back of my hand. Taught me a little trick too - run my hand under warm water for a minute and my veins pop out! Got it instantly after that. Whew! Apparently she got it just in time because she said that if she had waited just a minute or two more, I would have had to retake the whole test. That didn't make me super happy.

Next major event: my mom came up to visit us 2 weeks ago (at 18 weeks). Of course, she came up to see me and Jonathon and spend time with us, but the main reason was to go to the 3D ultrasound with us! This was one of the coolest experiences ever. On Saturday, March 10th, We finally make it out to the clinic and the tech was very nice, but didn't have a whole lot to say which was a bit off-putting for me. As soon as we got in the room, I hopped up on the table and she started the U/S right away. Our little jellybean was sleepy so there wasn't a whole lot of movement (which led to some not overly-exciting pictures...but that's ok!). The tech spent about 12 of the 15 minute ultrasound looking at baby's head/torso/arms. I was getting really anxious that she wasn't going to show us baby's goods...well finally, she changed the view and we saw our sweet baby's family jewels

IT'S A BOY!

I'm so excited to finally be able to put a name with a face for my baby.  It wasn't so much that I wanted to know the gender, but "baby" and "jellybean" and "it" just don't make it very real. I love being able to call him by name when I talk about him, and know that he is real.

Announcing....Aaron Folsom
Aaron Folsom Pritchard
He's kinda cute, huh?
boy oh boy, it's a boy!

The ultrasound was done at 18 weeks, and I am now officially 20 weeks and 1 day! That means Aaron is halfway done! The countdown will now begin.

We reached one of the most exciting milestones so far - feeling him kick. I have been feeling him for a few weeks now, just little nudges and flutters, but the other night (March 22nd, around 10PM to be exact), we were laying in bed and I grabbed Jonathon's hand and put it on my stomach. After about 5 seconds, Aaron kicked really hard, twice, and then a few more times a little later. It was so amazing finally having my hubby get to feel him! He's not been very active since then so J hasn't been able to feel him since then, but in the coming weeks, I know that's definitely going to change.
