29 weeks, 5 days

Woohoo, guess who DOESN'T have gestational diabetes! This girl right here. Yay :)

I went in on the 22nd for my three-hour test. It wasn't as bad as everyone said it would be, but it definitely wasn't enjoyable. Fasting for 12 hours, being stabbed 8 times (most of which were in my hand, in the same vein, and hit every nerve possible), and drinking the ultra-sugary fruit punch isn't a recipe for a good time, but really, it wasn't all that bad. My doctor called 2 days later and almost gave me a panic attack (my doctor never calls unless there's a problem), but it ended up being good news - only one of the 4 blood draws was high which means I'm GD-free!

I've officially decided to start my maternity leave on July 6th - so in about 5 weeks. It seems like the best date to me - especially since the last week will only be a 4-day week and I'll get holiday pay for July 4th...heck yea (yes, I totally planned it this way).

And in other news....I got a pretty new cell phone today. I'm extra excited because this one has a forward-facing camera. Never really cared about one before, but I've been wanting one recently so that then Aaron's born, I can Skype with my momma and daddy...and hubby if I'm ever away from him for any amount of time.  Time to go play with it!

Pictures coming later, seeing as how all my pictures were on my old phone....

28 weeks, 2 days

Hellooooo third trimester!

26 weeks

yes....I can now use my belly as a tray

27weeks
28 weeks 1 day barebelly

28weeks 2 days from the front!

28weeks 2 days :)
Aaron is moving non-stop now and on days I don't feel him a ton (like today) I spend the whole day worrying and doing everything I can to make him move - caffeine, sugar, cold drinks, ice pack on my belly, poking my belly, loud music, etc. Hubby makes fun of me, and rightly so because I usually end up looking like a moron.

Two weeks ago, I had another ultrasound (at 25 weeks, 4 days - May 1st) and everything turned out perfectly. At my follow-up appointment (this past Thursday - 27 weeks, 6 days - May 17th), my doctor went over everything and said he's looking perfect and measuring exactly on track. The only bummer was I had my 1-hr glucose test...and failed miserably! She said the norm is 130 and mine was in the 160's...yikes. So, this coming Tuesday, I have the terrible 3-hour glucose test. This requires 12 hours of fasting (ummm, telling a preggo that she can't eat for 12 hours is a horrible form of torture), then going in bright & early, getting my blood drawn, drinking that sugary drink, and then have my blood drawn AGAIN every hour for the next 3 hours. So at least until then, I'm doing everything possible to ensure I'll pass - per the Dr.'s recommendations, I'm eating way healthier, counting every calorie, watching those starches and sugars and carbs, and *attempting to* exercise. With any luck, this will help, and all will be well. If not, I guess we'll just deal with it when the time comes. Fingers crossed!

My little boy is so adorable, I know :)

(oh - a little about the ultrasound! My tech was amazing this time around. I asked her if I'd be getting any pictures and she said she could definitely do some...after taking all the measurements, she turned it to 3D just to show me my sweet boy and print pictures! I was almost in tears, I was so happy. And the best part - hubby couldn't make it {ok, that's not the good part...that sucked}, so she let me record a good bit of the 3D part so hubby could see it later. ah-mah-zing! happy momma here)

Last week, I went home to Georgia to visit friends and family, have 2 baby showers and see my best friend graduate from UGA (which unfortunately I couldn't attend - but at least I got to go to her party!) It would take ages to tell about everything that happened, so here's the highlights via photos:

Fluff!

So much has happened since my last post, but first and foremost, I feel the need to share about my newest obsession: FLUFF (aka cloth diapers)

Top L-R: BumGenius OS, Blueberry OS; Bottom L-R: FuzziBunz OS, Flip OS (cover)

This is my stash so far. I'm obviously very new to the CD (cloth diaper) world, but I'm learning! So far, I'm loving the one size pocket dipes best. The Blueberry brand I got is my favorite thus far (the cute lil giraffe one) due to the facts that it's a pocket, one size, snaps, and only has 2 snaps per side versus the 3 on the FuzziBunz (red one) which makes it quicker, and it can snap up to make it smaller length-wise.

Bear with me as I sort my thoughts:
Qualities:
One-size: LOVE. fits from NB til the end. way more economical than different sizes as baby grows. can be bulky for NB though.
Snaps: bit more tedious than velcro, but seems to last longer and not easy for baby to get apart
Velcro: way easier, but easy for little hands to remove. definitely will invest in more though.
Pockets: just add insert, and done. simple.
Prefolds+covers: not a bad idea...I might actually try this. must use snappies though...and take a little longer. *try contours*
Transition CDs: no bueno. won't be trying.

Brands:
BumGenius:  OS, Velcro
Blueberry: OS, snaps (2 snaps)
Flip: Cover - must buy prefolds and snappies
Fuzzibunz: OS, snaps (3 snaps)

Pros/Cons:
Pros: saves bookoos of money, better for baby's skin, better for environment, super stinkin cute
Cons: bulky, takes more time to put on, time consuming to clean, expensive to start, must use special soaps and many washes

Overall: I'm in love!

I've been watching tutorials all day on the different types and folds of CDs and I practiced on teddy:

Cute, eh?
